A fantastic stay. Bumble choo is a super place. Our party of 6,4 adults and 2 children, all had a great time. Bumble choo has everything you need with the bonus of parking for two cars. House is well positioned for shops, restaurants and more importantly the fells.. For us the property is as close to faultless as you will find. Thank you for a super stay.

We just got back from a fantastic stay at Bumble Choo - we couldn't fault a thing. The cottage is beautiful and extremely well presented with everything you could need or want, all contained in a great location. A 30 second walk into Windermere; a 3 minute drive to Bowness - it made the ideal base for exploring the Lake District.
Communication with Matthew was perfect throughout with clear instructions, helpful information, lists of things to do in the area, and immediate responses for any requests or clarifications.
We will 100% be back!

Bumble choo is the perfect location for access to the lake district. Its so lovely and cosy. Just a few steps to amazing eateries. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

We had a brilliant stay at Bumble Choo! Great location - right in the centre of Windermere but just set back from the high street so it’s nice and quiet.
The house is ideal - it’s decorated so nicely, the beds are really comfy and there’s all you could need in the kitchen.
Matthew was a great host - really responsive and very proactive with comms.

Although Bumble Choo is literally on the doorstep of all the amenities of the centre of Windermere, we found it a very peaceful place to stay. The cottage was beautifully clean on our arrival and very well presented. All in all, it was a great place to base ourselves and explore what the wider Lake District has to offer.

We had an amazing family holiday in the Lake District and Bumble Choo was our home for the week. It was a lovely home; our three kids (aged 11 to 14) had plenty of room to enjoy their own space, as well as coming together for sociable family time.
Bumble Choo is close to everything you need, including some lovely restaurants, cafes and a short walk down the road to Windermere, where our children enjoyed time jumping off the jetty into the lake.
The cottage was very well equipped; we had everything we needed for a thoroughly enjoyable few days in a beautiful corner of the country.

Stunning property and a great location for exploring the main lakes area. I have a 1 year old and a 5 year old so we spent most of our time in the lower level in the kitchen and living room. There is a park about 5 mins away which is useful for families to know as it caters to a wide age range.
There are a lot of stairs in the property but the ensuites in two of the bedrooms worked well.
Having somewhere to park was a huge bonus as Windermere gets busy. Take the advice and reverse in!

We’ve had a wonderful stay at Bumble Choo. The cottage is exactly as described and is beautifully decorated. The bedrooms were beautiful, the mattresses and pillow were extremely comfortable. Lovely bonus of having 3 showers in the cottage. The cottage is very well located with lots of shops and bars around. The cottage has the bonus of parking at the rear to the property however we never drove whilst we were there and used the buses to get us to places. We will definitely be back but next time I hope it’s not raining every day!

We had a fantastic stay for a week at Bumble Choo. Matthew was really helpful and responsive to any questions that we had. We can highly recommend a family stay.

The place is amazing! It was perfect for our week long stay in the lakes. Each bedroom was clean and the beds are super comfy!
The bathrooms were well equipped and the showers hot and powerful!
The kitchen had everything you need for a good cooked dinner with many pots and pans as well as a dishwasher!
It has loads of shops, bars and restaurants on its doorstep and is only a 25 minute walk into Bowness and the Lake.
Can not fault it at all and will definitely consider staying again if/when we visit the Lakes again in the future.

The cottage was delightful, comfortable and stylish. Great location for shops and restaurants. Bus stops close by and Bowness proved to be an easy walk to the lakeside and boats.
The beds, linen and towels were high quality and my friend and I both slept soundly.
The kitchen is excellently equipped making it a pleasure to self-cater.
I highly recommend this holiday cottage and was sad to leave. Thank you Matthew.

A very comfortable home, with a well-equipped kitchen, and plenty of room. Great location right in the centre of town, yet peaceful, off the main road and easy access to two parking bays. The house was beautifully furnished and was spotlessly clean and well-prepared upon our arrival. The three bathrooms were equipped with some of the best showers we have ever used, with loads of piping hot water. Highly recommended. Thank you.

What an unbelievably amazing stay we've had! The cottage was so cozy, clean, and convenient. We really wished that we could stay longer! We really enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen, the log burner, and the comfortable beds. The place is so well-located in Windermere that bus stops and grocery stores are only a few minutes of walking away. The instructions for checking in/out, as well as maintaining the appliances were easy and helpful. And Matthew was a great host, very communicative and thoughtful both before and during our stay. Thanks again for your warm hospitality! Cannot recommend enough, and we definitely want to come stay here again!

Bumble Choo Cottage is the perfect place for a lovely car free holiday in the Lake District. Close to Windermere station with lots of buses and ferries to all parts of the national park.
It is literally steps away from the high street from the high street with shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs galore. You can buy pretty much anything you need within a couple of hundred yards.
The house itself is gorgeous, very clean and newly decorated, a wonderfully well equipped kitchen and the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in. Lots of exercise and the clean Cumbrian air also helped.

Bumble Choo cottage is a wonderful tardis. It is very spacious, superbly equipped, extremely comfortable, and a two minute walk from shops, restaurants, bars, etc. The host communicated quickly and helpfully. The cherries on top were off-street parking for two cars in the garden at the rear, with charging points for two electric vehicles. Can’t recommend the cottage highly enough. Hope to book again in future and will happily recommend it to friends and family. Also, Windermere is a superb base from which to visit attractions across the Lake District.

The property is nice and central to the village and only 5 minute walk to fabulous eateries, bars and shops.

The woodburner makes it a cosy place to read a book or watch tv, a great addition to the house. Parking is right behind the property and excellently secure with lockable gates.

The decor is lovely with high quality linen and towels, the kitchen is well equipped with all the utensils you would need !!

A beautiful place to stay, very relaxing and welcoming after a day on the fells, everything was perfect and we will definitely stay again !!

What a lovely stay at Bumblechoo! This cottage is well deserved in its inclusion on The Independents best air B n B list. The decor and furnishings are well thought out. There is everything you should need including hotel quality bedding. It is situated in central Windermere so accessible to everything you need. We had brilliant weather so walked every day , using either the car or bus to get to our starting point. We had lovely breakfasts at Homeground. A delightful stay thank you!

Bumble Choo was just perfect for our first family holiday to the Lake District. We found it immaculately clean with beautiful decor. I really couldn’t fault it, great attention to detail. It was in an ideal location, being so close to the bus stop, we didn’t need to use our car. So close to all the beautiful shops and restaurants.
The information provided by the host really helped us plan our holiday. He was easy to contact and eager to help make our stay the very best. Would highly recommend!!!

Would highly recommend bumble choo, such a lovely house with everything needed for a stay in the lakes. The house was very nicely decorated and in a perfect location to explore the area. Lots of lovely walks nearby including Brant Fell, good eating options - would recommend The Pig, the magic wok and Gilpin spice and we loved the Mill Yard in Staveley with Hawkshead Brewery and the More? bakery. We hope to be back one day and would highly recommend the house to others.

We have just returned from our holiday in the Lakes. Matthew was a great host and the information pack provided was full of useful places to visit, eat etc. Bumble Choo is right in the town of Windermere and is really well appointed and a really nice place to stay. I would highly recommend staying at Bumble Choo.
There are plenty of places to visit, it's also great for walking and mountain biking and the scenery is fantastic.

Feels like home! With beautiful decor and welcoming host Bumble Choo is a great base for exploring the lakes. It's close to buses, trains and ferries. You can start your walks practically from the front door! Highlights were definitely a roaring fire and that fabulous window seat perfect for chilling with a good book. Can't wait to come back!

Fantastic stay at Bumble Choo. We stayed as a family of 4, a 3.5year old and a 8 week old in tow and it was perfect for us. The Lego kept our son well occupied on the rainy days. Windermere is a lovely place to visit any time of year!

We had a lovely week staying at the cottage. The location was perfect for us as a family and the amenities around us very helpful.
The house was well equipped and spacious and the little touches like very comfy beds, fluffy towels and a well equipped kitchen definitely made us feel like we were at home.
We loved the art work around the house, we needed buying the cow over the fireplace, the endless information on what to do and the log burner and kitchen range were fantastic to use for our cosy family evenings. Thank you so much.

Amazing location, deceptively big and great for 3 sets of couples as everyone also had their own bathrooms. The place has been decorated amazingly. We really loved our stay and will hopefully come back!

The cottage is extremely well equiped and comfortable
Ideally situated five minutes walk from some very good restaurants.
The lake is around a 25 minute walk away.
An open top bus also links Grasmere, Ambleside and Windermere to the lake at Bowness on Windermere.
A car/foot ferry will take you to the other side of the lake, perfect for walkers.

We have just got home from a wonderful week at Bumble Choo. The Welcome Pack was so informative, the beds were heavenly and the cottage itself had everything you could wish for. We enjoyed a wonderful walk near Rydal Water, an exhilarating trip up Helvellyn and would highly recommend a visit to Wray Castle. Another highlight was a last night dinner at Baha in Bowness. There is so much to take in and we loved popping in and out of the galleries in the local area. We had a wonderful stay and we will be back. Thank you Bumble Choo!

A gorgeous house in a gorgeous location. We spent a week at Bumble Choo while Windermere was extremely busy, so it was even more of a pleasure to come back to such a homely and comfortable rest stop.
Fantastic finishings, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything we needed and more.

We loved our stay here. Amazing location, beautiful interior, lovely fireplace, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds with great sheets and pillows, and great communication from Matthew. Couldn’t ask for better! If you’re headed to the Lake District, grab this place quick.

A truly lovely property. It is a very high spec property which really added to our enjoyment. The beds are exceptionally comfortable with high quality pillows, bedding and duvets (which I think always makes a significant difference). The house was immaculate and decorated beautifully. There are en suites in two of the rooms and the showers run off the boiler so are instantly hot and powerful (another perk).
The welcome pack was brilliant, the ease of the log burner very comforting and the abundance of kitchen utensils allowed us to cook up a storm without once struggling for something.
Final thing which we found really makes this property 5*...plug sockets everywhere! First time I have been somewhere and not had to shuffle around chargers for tablets, phones, watches etc.
Loved the place. Matthew was really quick to respond to any questions and even sent a bottle of fizz over when a travel cot arrived a few minutes late! Would thoroughly recommend and will be booking again the future.

A real gem. It felt so peaceful and private although it was still right in the middle of Windermere. The best of both worlds. Stylishly decorated and with wonderful tips from the hosts. You won’t regret staying here!

Thanks for a fantastic week away in the Lake District. Bumble choo is perfectly located for exploring & with fab facilities (including the log burner which was used most evenings & the bath which I wish I’d used more!) Matt was an excellent host-super responsive providing recommendations for the local area. Thank you-it’s a holiday we won’t forget in a while (we got engaged at the top of Wansfell pike whilst away!).

We had an amazing stay at Bumble Choo, couldn’t fault it, every detail was considered! We would definitely love to return. We entered to a lovely selection of treats and a cosy warm cottage. Everything was beautifully tidy and clean; kitchen fully kitted out, great showers, logs provided for the fire, fab artwork throughout (we got a couple similar pieces ourselves from the Cookhouse gallery a few steps away in the village), great selection of jigsaw puzzles and children’s toys, secure off road parking- everything was really homely and well thought through. Windermere village is charming, recommend Bella Italia, Magic Wok Chinese takeaway, a browse of the gift shops and a walk up to Orrest Head for stunning views. Bowness-on-Windermere (5 mins in car) was bigger and busier and we had a great time hiring a boat for an hour, Ambleside (10 mins in car) is a must visit, recommend the Priest Hole & Zeffirelli’s for food, a walk up to Stock Ghyll waterfall and visiting the pubs tucked at the top of the high street. A perfectly situated stay, we really relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. We have two girls 7 & 4 and they absolutely loved their holiday.

This cottage was absolutely beautiful- lovely interior design, deceptively spacious and well-connected to the rest of the lakes. Needless to say that we would love to come back!

This was a wonderful place to stay It has been stylishly renovated and exceeded our expectations The bedrooms and bedding were of hotel standard . It was exceptionally clean .The kitchen was so well equipped with everything we needed and there was a fab range oven to cook on . All the extra little touches were much appreciated and there were even torches on each level in case of power cut . The log burner was well used by us and there were plenty of logs provided. The location was great in the centre of Windermere but down a quiet street. It was also good to have parking provided at the back of the house . We will definitely recommend to others and would love to stay again Communication with Matt was easy and helpful.

Wow!!...Just come back from our week's stay at Bumble Choo cottage and what a stunning place to stay. Right in the heart of Windermere, the cottage is very homely, care and loving detail has been placed in every room. Everything you need in a holiday home is there. Today we’ve unfortunately arrived back home from an amazing week stay at Bumble Choo Cottage. The cottage is by far the nicest we’ve ever stayed in with attention to detail throughout and so comfortable and homely. It has everything you need for a relaxing self catering holiday. Situated in the centre of gorgeous Windermere, you can easily explore the lakes and it’s huge amount of touristic areas. Will be booking again ASAP! We miss it already
